Genesis 1 is about God creating the Earth. He says let there be light, firmament, divided waters, grass, etc, and created the Earth over the course of one day. God also created Man in this time, and stated that he had dominion over the other living creatures. Geneis 2 is about God creating the garden of Eden, and telling man he cannot eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God didn’t want man to be alone, so he took one of his ribs, and created Woman. Genesis 3 describes a serpant tempting the woman to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil even though God said they shouldn’t. She eats, and Adam does as well. God cursed the serpant, cursed the ground for the man, and said that man ruled over woman. I can relate to this story because it portrays the reality of temptation and its consequences. A modern example (completely unrelated to me; I would never smoke): Your mom tells you never to smoke, but your friends offer you cigarettes, and you do it, and your mom seriously punishes you. We’ve all given in to temptation, I’m sure, and I know we’ve all been punished.
