The Book of Genesis, Chapters 1 through 3, plays out as follows:
Chapter 1: Story of the Earth's creation - It's basically a grocery list of God's role in the creation of the earth. Chapter 2: The creation of Adam and Eve - the material from which they were created and the divinity that is the Garden of Eden.
Chapter 3: The downfall of the divine couple and their eventual resting place on earth due to Satanic influences.
As a Muslim I view the story of creation in a logical sense that links evolutionism with creationism. We believe that while the story of creation rings through in all aspects, one cannot deny scientific evidence that points towards evolution being true as well. If we were to dissect certain Quranic verses we can see the scientific evidence laced within each surah as well. For example Surah 21 verse 30 of the Quran says, "We made every living thing from water, will they not believe?" In this verse water is pointed out as the origin of all life, while this fact is obvious to us in such modern times, in the deserts of Arabia the last thing they would have guesses is that life came from water. Much like the verses of the Quran I take every aspect of my religion with a grain of salt and evaluate it from a logical perspective. In terms of specifically relating myself to the beings of Adam and Eve I would say that in my life, much like that of Adam and Eve, I have been given a set path since my creation. Every pivotal point in my life was noted by my parents at my birth eventually leading to the climax of my degree in medicine. Much like Adam and Eve I have temptations to lean away from the path destined for me, but I understand commitment to my culture and my family and choose to remain on my chosen path.
