"Do not go gentle into that Good Night" by Dylan Thomas is a poem about instead of accepting death to fight it. It has the best use of the form because it follows the guidelines and villanelle format makes the poem into sort of a song which helps its flow. It repeats the first line in the last line of the second and fourth stanza like it is supposed to. Also, it has an aba rhyme scheme for the entire poem. Thomas repeats the word "rage" to show that death should be fought, instead of being succumbed to. The villanelle helps Thomas' poem by its repetition to emphasize points, and also reinforce imagery.
